Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by 06/17/2024 so we can have an accurate headcount :)

Can I bring a +1?

Yes, all invited guests are allowed to bring a +1. It is preferable that +1s are someone close to you or to the bride or groom.

Are kids welcome?

Yes, kids are welcome! Please let the bride and groom know so that they can be included in the RSVP.

However, weddings can be overwhelming so please prepare your children's accommodations accordingly. We ask you to supervise your children at all times as any property damage incurred by your child will be your responsibility.

What will the weather be like?

The weather in New York will be hot & humid with a chance of rain in August. Don't forget to pack your umbrellas, just in case :)

What should I wear?

Dress code is formal attire. As common courtesy, guests should not wear white as their main attire to the wedding ceremony or reception.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony will be indoors at the Church of the Holy Spirit.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, both the church and the reception venue are wheelchair accessible.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Unless the priest allows it, please be courteous and respectful, and do not use your phones or cameras to take pictures or videos during the wedding ceremony. Thank you!

Will there be any activities happening during reception?

Seats are pre-assigned and dinner will be served in reception. There will be a photobooth, memorial and guest signing station. Apart from dancing, there will be a special wedding game (designed by the bride). Participation is optional but you are missing the fun :P

Where should I park?

Free parking is available within church grounds. Valet parking is available to all guests at the reception venue. In the event, parking is full, there is street parking around the church and the reception venue.

What if I don't drive? Is there public transportation nearby?

Yes! The LIRR is within walking distance to both the church and the reception venue. The church is also two blocks away from the reception venue. Save your feet and bring comfortable shoes if you choose to walk.

Will food be served?

Food will be served during cocktail hour between 7-8pm and dinner later on in the evening.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

During RSVP, please inform us of your dietary restrictions, including +1s and children, if any. We will let you know if there are any limitations due to venue availability.

Any advice for someone who is travelling to New York for the first time?

If you want to travel around New York City after attending the wedding, it would be advisable to not book your hotel accommodations in the Long Island area (where the wedding ceremony and reception are held). Instead, use public transportation such as the LIRR to travel to the wedding from your hotel of choice, or utilize Uber. Plan your travels ahead of time and use Google Maps to your advantage.

I have a question not answered here; how do I contact you?

Please email the bride at irl.emilylim@gmail.com for any questions or concerns.
